Decrease in inward and outward settlement flows

Incoming bank settlement flows was almost unchanged from the second quarter of 2017 to the third quarter of 2017. Outgoing settlement decreased from the previous quarter; slightly down by 16 billion.

Settlements from foreign countries to Norwegian bank accounts amounted to NOK 547 billion in the third quarter of 2017. This was a decrease of 0.4 per cent from the second quarter of 2017. Outgoing settlements from Norwegian non-financial enterprises and private persons showed a decrease of 2.8 per cent from the first quarter of 2017. The total outgoing settlements sent abroad reached NOK 548 billion in the third quarter of 2017.
